The process involves using devices like AWS Snowcone or Snowball for physical data transfer of large data sets, up to 20 terabytes or more. Data is copied to these devices and then shipped to AWS data centers for uploading. Triofox ensures seamless integration and data integrity throughout the migration.

For in-house storage migration, you need to set up a VM and install our server software, which acts as a web portal between your client and file server. This setup allows for publishing your in-house file server to our platform and supports future migration to cloud storage.

When migrating to S3 storage, since S3 does not support NTFS permissions, you will need to redefine your permissions using our platform. We provide access control features to define folder permissions, ensuring secure access to migrated files.

AWS allows for billing setup either through a credit card or invoicing. Initially, a credit card needs to be put on file, but it can be switched to invoicing by connecting with a billing specialist.

After the initial migration using devices like Snowcone, a sync program can be run to replicate any changes or adjustments made, ensuring data integrity. This can be a one-way replication from AWS to internal servers as well.

The timeline can vary, but transferring data might take a weekend for the actual data transfer, with additional time for delivery and setup of devices like snow cones, which could be around four to five days.

AWS S3 is versatile in handling various data types, including documents, PDFs, photos, and video formats. However, for direct access from storage, considerations around storage type, like object storage, need to be made.

The plan involves a one-way sync into AWS after the snow cone arrives, and then after data integrity checks, begin a two-way sync to ensure everything looks good. Departments will then be moved by section with a one-way sync from AWS to internal hardware.
