Hello,
I have just installed the latest version of Gladinet. I try to mount the virtual drive using my Skydrive account. The program responds with “Login Failed” as the only information in the Audit Trace viewer. I have triple checked my account details and password. They are correct as I can log in to Skydrive on the web using them. (https://account.live.com/).
Gladinet simly ends with the message “Login Failed”
Internet access without proxy.
I also reduced the complexity of the password to a simple one.
I try to access via Vista 64 bit SP2
System already rebooted.
Any advice as to how this error may be fixed ?

Hello,
I see that Gladinet is supporting the connection via FTP protocol. Maybe I could use that as an alternative way.
Does someone know if MS offers access to Skydrive via FTP, if yes where could I find the necessary informations.

Don't think Skydrive supports FTP. For your account, please clear the Internet Explorer cookie and login your account from Internet Explorer, to verify it works there. (Please use IE for the purpose, even though you may not use it generally). Some users hit CAPTCHA during login. In that case, has to manually type in the CAPTCHA on the browser first, then mount in Gladinet. If it still doesn't work, is it possible to pass your account login to us, so that we can try it in house? If that's possible, please contact us at support@gladinet.com directly. or you can apply for a new account and try it in Gladinet.

Hello,
like suggested I erased all cookies from Internet Explorer. I also logged in into the account using IE which works fine. There is no need to enter a CATCHA during the log in process. Commonly I am using OPERA as browser and be logged in fine.
Unfortunately I am still not able to mount via Gladinet a drive.
In the mean time I installed Gladinet on a different PC with Windows 7 64bit, the result is the same: “Login failed”

It looks like, that Österreich is different spelled, could it be a problem resulting from the German character set?

Yup. Confirm that..
My Gladinet Free Starter Edition v4.0.874_x64 also failed to login to Skydrive as of July 25th 1500(UTC); upgraded to v4.0.881_x64 (failed) then to v4.0.904 (also failed); which probably means the cause is *possibly* on the Skydrive's side.
When attempting to force re-login, tcpdump shows some SSL chatter between the Gladinet FSE and skydrive.live.com...so I guess its not a network connectivity issue.
Login (and cookie-cleared login) and other normal operations on the Skydrive website is fine; no obvious changes are on the Skydrive WebUI though.
Anyways, there was a Miicrosoft LiveID maintenance on July 23rd & Microsoft Family Safety maintenance on July 26th (https://status.live.com/history) which could be the cause...
...still waiting for official news from Gladinet themselves.

My Gladinet Pro is also failing to login to my SkyDrive. I am able to login fine from the browser.

I too am having major problems logging into Skydrive via Gladinet.
Win7 Ultimate x64.
I enter the same exact credentials that I successfully use to login via a web browser.
The "mounter" app/function window appears, with the message "we are now mounting the virtual directory". The message directly over the progress indicator indicates "validating virtual directory" and the a new pop-up window appears with the message "login failed".
Please help. I mistakenly believed (via the posts elsewhere in this forum) that I need to pay the upgrade money to get to version 4.x, so I did that, and am still having problems logging into Skydrive.

and it looks like that the MS SkyDrive is now mounted via Gladinet (Vista 64). I am able to log in via Gladinet and the Browser and will test Gladinet a bit.
the case SkyDrive Login failed is solved.

Folks - I had to navigate to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local (in Windows 7) and delete the Gladinet directory after I had uninstalled the older version. Also, after installing the latest version, you may still need to exit/quit Gladinet completely and restart in order to for it to find the updated Skydrive plugin.
Seems to be working now/finally.

I have tried everything in this forum topic and I still get the same problem. The log shows error : "Auto login failed for virtual directory : Windows Live SkyDrive Status Code 407". Other threads on Office 2010 and Office 2013 indicate that Status Code 407 (as relating to Windows Live Skydrive) is a Proxy server authentication problem. Indeed I am behind a Proxy server but have specified the Proxy server details in the Management Console. I am running Vista SP 2 at work. At home I have no problems with Gladinet, where I am running Windows XP Home - no Proxy Server. Please help !

If I switch off the Proxy settings in Gladinet, then the error code changes to 503, but the screen requesting Proxy server details is still displayed

Must be a problem with the proxy server. Assume you have defined the host name and port number in Gladinet proxy setting, right?

I have to say that i have the same issue (Error 407, when connecting) when i'm at work behind proxy (i use both skydrive and google drive). With a previous version (can't recall exactly wich, but i think it was 2-3 releases ago) i wasn't having any issues with the same proxy settings i'm using now. There are some changes on both Skydrive and Google Docs login process. It is possible that proxy is affecting the new way the login works.

d'oh! Thanks for the reply.
Actually the issue seems to be affecting also the gladinet cloud drive.
NINJA EDIT: So apparently windows had stored somewhere my old password for the proxy (we change it every 2 months), starting skype prompted windows to ask me again for it and bam gladinet is able to connect again.
So yeah i don't know exactly what was going on, but it's solved on my part ;)
