Yesterday I updated Gladinet "over" the installed version from March...
Some issues may not be new due to the actual version, but make it just complicated:
- The installer stops with error message, when it is started from a partition other than system drive.
-> But installing from, say, C:\temp, works.
- The installer detects the path of the installed older version, but "forgets" part of it.
-> Error 1001 and break.
-> User has to fill in the "forgotten" part of the path to get it!
- While a break of installation process shows and does a rollback of the changes made, every start of the installer
creates a new system restore point - but without deleting it in case of breaking the process, i.e. it would collect
lot of garbage on system drive (and so covering more important restore points after some time).
-> should delete restore point, too.
- The installer ignores location of icons in the start menue and always sets its standard location newly. (So, this is
the 2nd topic of a restricted choice for a path of the program.)
-> should ask for start menue entry and use it.

Did you change Gladinet installation location during the upgrade. We do have an issue here. If you install Gladinet old version on C:\Program Files and during the upgrade, decide to install it on D:\Program Files, the installation will fail. If that's the case, please uninstall the old version first, then install the new version.
not sure about the restore point. We didn't do anything here and rely on Windows msiexec to manage it.

Same with any other software we know. If you want to transfer the software to a different drive, better yet give it a new installation. Instead of simply transferring or changing its location.
The more specific you are, the better.
